Hi,

I don't see how you are going to connect these T20s to the camera body. A T20 connected with a cable needs a T20 connector which makes it impossible to use the flash shoes of the macro flash ring. If you get them mounted (and connected), I think they would get to far in front of the lens. With a T28, the flash reflectors are mounted just above their "feet". With a T20, the flash tube and reflector are some distance in front of the flash "foot". It could work for a distant subject (as with a tele-macro lens, the 135 mm) but
not with something in the 50 mm range.

I too believe the idea of "flash-shoe-ring-mounting" two T20s is too impractical. What I would think is that it might be better to think of a different solution altogether. I believe someone already suggested using (potentially self made) angle brackets for mounting the flashes. I believe that is a much better (be it still rather heavy) way to go. As an alternative, I guess there are many cases where it would simply suffice to put the two T20s on a table tripod (equiped with the notorious T20 AutoConnector), and then position them around the subject in
the desired way. I realise that that is not quite the same as mounting them
directly on the front of the lens, but at least I think it is a workable
alternative in many situations.

Either way, best of luck with your experiments, and keep us posted on the
results, as I believe several people would like to have a poor man's T28!

Cheers!
Olafo
