There were 2Ns sold in the 80s with a little "USA / Flag" emblem on the
front corner of the top cover near the rewind knob. This was done to create
a difference between gray market and Olympus imports. I don't know if this
is the emblem you are referring to.
The FC on the OM-10 manual adapter was another example of this.
