I have to give Porsche credit for this: the 911 is the finest handling snowmobile I've ever driven. During that drive from Houston to Cleveland I ran into an ice storm that lasted from south of Dallas all the way through Ohio. In Tennessee I was plagued by a pick'em'up truck that kept whizzing by at speeds far in excess of anything remotely safe. At every overpass he'd slide on the ice, zipping into my lane a couple of times, getting stuck on the roadside or median.

Meanwhile the Porsche never bobbled. But every time the idiot would unstick his truck and come barreling down the highway, passing me again. He finally slid sideways across an overpass and all the way down a slope to the drainage ditch below where the truck gently tipped over onto its side, ending any further adventures in endangering fellow travelers.

The 924 and 928 were far inferior bad weather handlers (a 928 fishtailed on me merely negotiating a slow right hand turn from a stoplight on a damp road - way too touchy) and lacked the true sports car feel of the 911. If I owned a 911 I'd bring a rivet gun, duct tape and bungee cords for keeping the bits together while having great fun driving.

LOL yeah porche is known for that too. What wealthy people will accept just to display the proper nameplate on their car! It's obviously not the speed that
they need.
