yeah, those are the everyday ones. The really good ones are hand made in a
small shop in Austria by an ex-Leica lens grinder. He grinds the lenses by
hand, then uses his own proprietary coating formula, and machines the
barrels
out of titanium alloy. He hand calibrates each one on his own optical bench.
He also builds the ebony boxes for them, and his wife sews the velvet lining
for the box. Each lupe is hand engraved and numbered, and only 50 are made
each year. There is currently a 3 year wait for one. Interested?
