One of Canada's lighter weight universities is said to offer an
undergraduate degree in journalism! Hey, but then a university in New
Mexico has an undergrad degree in golf course management ...

A year or so ago one of Canada's national papers carried a very long
article about the then recently hired head of pediatric surgery at a
Canadian university. His resume was said to be over 30 pages long, he
was in his mid 30s and the resume had a long string of medical
qualifications and a lengthy battery of hands on experiences. He was
exposed after his operating room nurses finally blew the whistle on his
average of one death in every two or three surgeries. According to the
paper, the university / hospital was so enthralled with his resume that
they never checked his references. Seems that his experience was largely
limited to research work and minor assistance work here and there!
