I wouldn't even say journalism is done to technical perfection.  There's 
still far too much commentary passed off as reporting.  The most clever are 
guilty of sins of omission, and slant a report the way they want it to be 
perceived.
To put it in list-relevant reference, majoring in journalism is akin to 
maximally sharp, perfectly exposed photographs of nothing.  (Or those 
audiophile test records.)
