I just revisited

which is a press release section of Oly Japan.
In the following:

初めて実現。オリンパス独自開発の手振れ制御システムの搭載により、10
倍という高倍率ズームでの撮影でも手振れを抑えた安定した高画質が得ら
れます。
"World's first digital still camera with a 1/2 inch CCD was realized.  Olympus
has developped its own image stabilization system that enables to achieve
high quality images even at 10x zoom" - my translation here.

I am not sure the basis of the statements in below website.  May be
Oly has a cross-licensed with part of the stabilization system from
Canon ?  I am not expert in this field.
