Hi Evan,

You must be new to the group.

There is a OM FAQ website  regarding your inquiries or someone else
can answer you (I have the 2n but I'm at work).
Try http://brashear.phys.appstate.edu/lhawkins/photo/
and click B7 for a),   I think in Manual mode with B is the only way for b),
Yes for c).
I believe there are wealth of info available from the List members and
my answer maybe wrong.  Don't feel asking dumb questions; everyone
has to start from somewhere..
