The way I do it (if I care to include inifinity in focus):
set the middle of the inifinity mark at the appropriate DOF marking. If,
for example, I want hyperfocal for near distance, indoors, then the
nearside DOF mark is lined up with the closest thing I want in focus. Did
my explanation make any sense? I know, 1 am...
