<GGGGG> Keith, this reminds me of the one my father-in-law did about
fifteen years ago. My wife and I were visiting for Christmas and he came
home with a new car. Not a used one mind you, a brand new station wagon.
U.S. list members will appreciate this: he does not "deal" on car prices
but pays outright bottom-line sticker price for them. My mother-in-law was
livid; it was a complete surprise. She had no idea he was going to do
this. His strategy? Do it while we were there. Very bold (brazen?) move
on his part. There was a limit to how much she would say or do with
witnesses present. Didn't realize how shrewd he was until many years later.
