: i want to be able to lighten areas in a room with 3-4 slaves (is this the
: right word??) so that pictures of the room will look evenly lighted (lit??)
:
: Any suggestions as to a reasonably priced brand and a glossover of how to use
: these (are they battery-run??) woud be appreciated as shots of interiors are
: coming with a lot of light drop-off. It just has always seemed like the TTL
: function would be perfect for this use.

Hmm, disapponting contents; I was hoping for some 'ball and chains' revelations
here. ;)

The cheapest solution is a set of mini flashes with built-in slave sensor. They
cost only $5 or something, have a low GN (like 12m/100ASA) and work only full
manual. So this needs some experimenting or a flash meter.

Real slave units are more expensive, about $40, require no batteries. You can
put
any flash in it, and use this flash manual or with its computer sensor. Firms
like
Hama and Kaiser sell these slaves.

The most expensive solution is a TTL slave like Metz sells. This lets you do the
multi TTL flash trick without bothering with cables.
