I was not trying to imply that all drivers written for win9x will work on NT. I
was
simply stating that of the scanners I have installed recently, most of them use
a common application for both win9x and NT, meaning it is written to
correctly work in NT in the first place. Of course, these are all devices which
support NT, so it is not a fair comparison with the ES-10.
But since the original post was from someone who already bought one, I
thought I should share my experiences with installing devices under NT, both
those with NT support, and those without. I have successfully installed several
devices in NT which claim no support from the manufacturer, but do work fine.

I see your point, and yes it does help, as I don't have experience with these
memory cards - all our current cameras are too old for this. But still, let's
say
were looking at a lower end camera like the D340 - then the cost of a card
reader is a significant portion of the cost, so I may choose to use the serial
cable supplied with the camera. At this point it becomes critical that the
software supplied supports NT.
And since NT4 does not support USB, buying a card reader won't help at this
point, so I'll probably be stuck with serial connection even with the C-2000
model at least for the first year, unless there is another option... (I've seen
the
floppy adapter, but the thought of it makes me uneasy - do these work?)
