Contax went to a great deal of effort to design the AX to give auto focus
compatibility to all their MF lens. But a digital autofocus body wouldn't
have to move the whole shutter/mirror/pressure plate box back and forth to
focus. It, assuming that there was no TTL viewfinder, would only need to
move the CCD and the viewing would be electronic. Voila, the digital OM5.
