Hi.

In case any of you were curious, I thought I should report the fate of my
OM body that was recently shipped to Dallas for a tune up.

I took the advice of numerous list members and decided to give Photosphere
a try (Camtech had been good to me in the past, but I worried that Mr.
Hermanson was too backed up these days). Two weeks after the camera arrived
at their shop, I followed up with a phone call. They dug up my paperwork
and told me the estimate (very reasonable), and when I consented to have
the work done, I was told the camera would be "put in the repair line."
They also said that once in line, the wait would be eight weeks. So when
you count the two weeks of estimate time, I'm facing ten weeks without my
camera. Not too cool, IMHO. I miss it dearly already. I'm not slamming
Photosphere - I trust they'll do a great job - but I wanted to pass this
along 'cause some of you would-be customers to places like Camtech and
Photosphere may not realize just how unpleasant a long seperation between
you and your favorite camera can be.
