There have been a few reports of 35RC meters being killed off by fitting
1.5v alkaline batteries instead of the required 1.3v mercury battery.
Without a meter you are pretty well limited to having a coupled rangefinder
with manually set apertures and speeds, except that it has a sort of
'flashmatic' system whereby you set the guide number of your flashgun with
the little lever, aperture ring to the lightning symbol, and as you focus
the aperture adjusts itself. It is X synchronised at all speeds. Nice
camera - one of my favourites.
