Which model[s] of OM offer all of the features of the OM4T other than
having to rely on the life of the batteries to fire the shutter?

See original subject. :-)

I can
readily survive having the TTL meter die when the batteries expire but
having the shutter die at the same time is a real pain ...

Personally, I don't see it. A pair of spare batteries is small, light, inexpensive, long-lasting, and there's no reason not to have them around. Tape them to your camera strap.

...... and they
would die when it got cold as well!!

And the lubricants in all-mechanical cameras stiffen and affect exposure accuracy in the cold. Besides, those spare batteries I wrote about could be kept in an inside pocket.

Are there any OM3T owners on the list who are also familiar with the 4T who
might be able to compare the features of both models absent only the
battery powered shutter in the 4T?

3T: no self-timer, no mirror/aperture pre-fire. This alone may be more important than the much-lauded battery issue if you expect to shoot in the critical 1/8th to 1/30 area, where mirror/aperture vibration seems to cause the most problems.

So please -- no flames from 3T owners -- I think it's a great camera, but I also think its benefits are largely psychological, and can be overcome by the simple discipline of having spare batteries on hand.
