I'm wondering about the significance of the batteries losing power so
quickly. Could the flash only be firing at full power? Is the sensor
inside the O of Olympus on the front of the flash covered somehow?
I don't have your flash/camera combination, but with my T32, you can
hear the difference between full power and a short burst of energy. The
full power makes a distinctive popping sound, while the shorter flashes
sound more like a snap.
I'm sure someone with more experience with this combination will help
you more that I have.
