For the calculations below: US$ 1 = 8.3 SEK (today's rate).

Leopoldo,
As for the batteries, or battery rather, there are no problem at all. I
have just a few meters to my local hardware store where I
can get batteries to my OM-1N. You will find them in your local hardware
store too.

Well, I have just checked with the custom authorities and they say the
following:
If you buy a camera from, lets say USA (or any other non-EU country),
the custom duty is 4.20f the value of the camera.
If you buy a lens the duty is 6.70f the lens value.
If you buy any camera accessory or part (incl. spare part) of a camera,
the duty is 3.70f the value.
Then add 25% VAT to the total cost of the thing you buy (item value plus
duty).

If you buy an item within EU, you have no custom duty at all. The only
thing you have to pay extra for, which I guess is already
included in the price, is the VAT from the country you buy - Great
Britain, Germany, Holland etc.

Then there are one expense of 50 SEK plus VAT, making approx. 63 SEK.
This extra cost is for every parcel, up to 24 kg, per person. If it
shows that there are, lets say, three parcels of a specific buy, then
the cost is still 63 SEK.
When you want to collect the parcel(s) at the post office, you also has
to pay the teller 20 SEK. That makes is a total of 83 SEK incl. VAT.

So, if you are buying an OM camera for US$ 200, the total cost excluding
shipping from the US, but including the other costs, goes up to:
US$ 200 + 4.2ustom duty = US$ 208.4 = 1729.72 SEK
1729.72 SEK + 25% VAT = 2162.15 SEK
2162.15 SEK + 83 SEK = 2245.15 SEK
This means that a camera that costs 1660 SEK (US$ 200) will finally cost
2245.15 SEK (US$ 270.5) when fetched at the post office. All this is an
increase of 585.15 SEK (US$ 70.5), or 35.25 0.000000e+00xtra.

Finally:
I have bought some things from list members and I have bought from
Olympus Guy!, all of them are from the US by the way, and I have
got away with any extra cost except from when I bought a zoom from our
list member Siddiq. Normally, I would should have had the
extra cost for every shipment outside EU, so I guess I have been lucky
except that time...
Hey Siddiq! Perhaps we should try the luck once again? Got a spare Zuiko
180/2.8 lying around? ;-)

Hope this was to any help.
