Nope, there's another "post" sticking down from the Shoe 2 that has now
where to go on an OM-1. That "post" is the synchro for the TTL. since you
will only be using manual flash on the OM-1, it wouldn't gain you anything
anyway.
If you don't have a 310 or compatible flash and no Shoe 2, you could, I
repeat, could cut off the post. But....
BTW, I just looked, I have a Shoe 3 extra ( no 2 anymore). If you're
