I don't think that flames result (would be quite unreasonable if that were
the case) from mentioning 50mm lenses; perhaps, though, some minor
irritation develops at the threat of the seeing the SC/MC 50/1.8 discussion
starting again.
You're right though: the 50/1.8 is a sweetie (but not as small as my 40/2)
and is useful for all sorts. But the expensive glass is also useful. The
question is, how much photography am I doing when I am lugging around the
glass or when I am writing this email? ;-)
