John is correct.  The lab doing the prints determines a *lot* of the result
which is why I sent rolls of film through several places to find one I
liked after I moved here a few years ago.  This is also why I shoot chrome
almost exclusively . . . it takes the negative-to-print variation out of
the picture (pun intended).

All other things being equal in developing and printing between color
negative film types, my remarks still stand.
