The experiment might be a success but the patient may die. I've bought a few
grungy lens and gently try to remove the rubber grip ring with an old
popsicle stick. I then scrub it with a toothbrush and dish detergent. After
it is dry I apply some Armorall low gloss plastic and rubber protectorant. It
looks at least 100% better after this treatment.
