As much as I enjoy Gary's lens tests and find them interesting, my opinion
is purely subjective based on usage. My 24 f/2.8 is MC and I like it. I
find it particularly well suited to distorting reality when used up close in
those cases where the 21 is overkill. Wide open is acceptably sharp to my
eye, and it is much more flare resistant than my 28 f/3.5. The 28 just sits
most of the time, unless I have a specific need for it; the 24 (and 21)
always come along. Be sure to use a hood (shade?) with it.
