Yes Giles, I would agree that the 180F2.0 is a superb lens!!! However, it is
not a street lens--I do not see my self wandering through the Bronx, El Paso,
Mexico City or Moscow with it. I was able to somewhat answer my own question
through PHOTODO.COM though. They have a test of the Tamron 180F2.5 and it's
not half bad--just a hair off the Leica 180F2.8R lens I think. Yet the recent
posts on the reliability of the Tamron mount and my own memories of a third
party Canon lens mount have decisively quelled any interest in non OM
alternatives! So, I'm going to just stick with my OM 180!
