It would appear that is what Oly is doing with bodies, lenses and
accessories. They sell until the warehouse stock is depleted for a
particular item, then they discontinue it. But with Olympus, who knows
anymore. It seems that since Maitani retired, Oly is heading off in new
directions. If you like the OM system, it just seems best to use it and
enjoy without thinking about it too much.
