I fully agree.  Without dealer/middleman, goods can't flow between
buyer and sellers efficiently(dealers are market makers).  A fair
spread is needed to support the  middleman.  I am a collector, I do
appreciate the facts that searching for things from ad from public is
not as easy as deal with a "prof" dealer.  and the fact is that
dealer's price is not always the highest.  Just like you would find
that in garage sales, someone may charge a poor condition simple
camera for $40, yet the same thing may only worth $10 in the book value.

At show, you can see the camera rather than see the ad as "9+" which
means from "super clean to heavily used" depend on who is rating it.

I agree that knowledge is power.
