To bring this back into the practical.....

Several questions:  Is the defraction caused by stopping down equal to all
colors?  Or does it affect the shorter wavelengths more or less than the
longer wavelengths.

How do we determine the percentage of defracted image to primary image?
Doesn't this defraction actually actually manafest itself in most images as
a loss of contrast rather than a loss of resolution?

Are all subjects affected equally?  For example, low contrast compositions
will have more apparant sharpness than compositions with point sources of
light.
