I'll second that Ulf. I've been spouting off to Giles about the 35mm f/2 in a
private mail but since you mentioned it.....

I bought a 35mm f/2 from EBay at Christmas and paid about $120 for it - a bit
more than I wanted but still reasonable. When it arrived I was impressed by the
condition, absolutely mint (and I mean mint). Anyway, I fondled it and tried it
on the camera along with a 2-13 screen that David Brown's sister brought me back
from a trip to B&H in NY and was impressed, but then it got put away and not
used for a while. This was mainly due to the appallingly grey days we seemed to
suffer in the UK in the early months so little chance of any landscape work.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I 'rediscovered' it in my camera bag a couple
of weeks ago and tried it out. I love it so much its about the only lens I'm
using at the moment. Its very sharp, very bright (especially with the 2-13) and
lovely contrast. I've just had some super shots back of woodlands that are
carpted with bluebells that are flowering at the moment. I need a scanner so I
can get some onto the gallery but a recent purchase of a Hasselblad 150mm put
paid to the scanner funds :( Also, I have had some stunning results from my
24mm f/2.8 - that really is a gem of a lens.

I tried putting my 35mm 2.8 in as part exchange for an 80mm enlarging lens but
the shop wouldn't take it. They said no-one wants prime 35mm lenses anymore,
though they said they'd have taken a 28mm off me. To me the prime 35mm beats a
35-whatever zoom hands down because of its *much* closer focusing abilities.
Anyway, anyone want a 35mm f/2.8 going cheap? Its as good as an f/2 version,
just not as bright or as big.

Regards

John.
