Surprisingly there seemed to be little interest in this lens. I e-mailed
the seller a few days before the auction end and he told me that the
reserve was $2000. I made an initial bid at the opening price of $1800 a
few hours before the end but my enthusiasm to go higher was "dampened" by
having just bought a new (used) enlarger - I have been upgrading my
darkroom over the past few months. This put rather a large hole in my
finances and it was probably just as well (financially!) that someone bid
$2000 at the last minute and got the lens!
BTW I read the e-mail by PvT and didn't think that his lens and this one
were the same. I don't actually know what he was asking for his, but I
presumed over $2000.
