We visited Iona with a group of friends in 2024, for just a few hours, long enough for lunch and visits to the Abbey,
Nunnery, etc. That was the second link I posted.
This year, we went on a spiritual pilgrimage. A group of 9 of us, including our fabulous leader, stayed six nights at
the Argyll Hotel on Iona. Because of prior bookings , we spent two night in a sightly too small room, but four in Room
one. Not cheap, but worth it. Spacious, with two armchairs on either side of a coffee table in front of a panoramic view
of the sound and Mull. Excellent breakfasts and good other meals, though we ate elsewhere most times.
We thought the weather was good, better than expected in early May. Chilly, and often a bit windy, but mostly sunny. Of
course, the one day we did a longer hike, to Columba's Bay in the South, it was gale force wind on the "golf course" on
the way, with rain and hail added on the way back, but we were accoutered for it, and the OM gear is waterproof, so no
harm done. Nicer on most of the route and lovely at the bay itself.
I do miss Bob. We used to stay with him and Joan for a couple of days in our Fall New England visits. We missed him on
his last year, when we got Covid and isolated at an AirBnB in Prospect. I don't recall any mention from him about
Fionnphort. There's little there there. The accommodations and things to do are on Iona. Mull is a large and scenic
island, but in other parts.
I don't recognize the place in your photo. It's a small island, but we didn't
see it all.

Looks like we had better
weather. Did you stay in Fionnphort? I remember that Bob W recommended
a place there.
