Lake Balaton in Hungary is the largest lake in Central Europe. It was a popular
tourist destination also during Communist times, especially for people from
other Communist countries like Poland. Today it remains a popular destination
for Hungarians (Hungary is landlocked, so the beaches around the lake’s 197 km
coastline and those along the Danube river are the only beaches there) and for
other Europeans.
I spent 3 days in the coastal town Balatonfüred last week, about 150 km from
Budapest. I was there for work, but of course there was enough free time in the
morning, and on the last day, to explore the area. As usual when I travel, I
also visited a nice art exhibition, featuring work by local painter József Egry
with whose work I was not familiar, but I liked it very much. The resulting
gallery can be seen here:

And as always, comments and critique are welcome and appreciated.
