Thanks to all who responded.

1) Wasabi looks like the only choice for non-OEM batteries here is Canada. The only other brand that seems quite well regarded is Watson, offered by B&H. However, with the current tariff regime - and the removal of the /de minimus/ rule here in N. America - I'm avoiding anything imported, particularly from the US.

2) Yes, I know the E-M5 mk2 is an old camera. At some point, I will have to change it. I really like the form factor of the 5 series bodies, though I have never handled an EM/OM1. I regularly use the 12-100, but don't find it unbalanced. It is a chunky combination, to be sure, and the "small" battery runs down quite quickly. The OM1 is certainly a better camera and offers a number of benefits, as Moose noted. It is also quite a bit heavier than the EM/OM5 body.

Obviously, there are $$$ differences between the two bodies. Nevertheless, I should at least get my hands on an OM1 to see whether I like that body. As long as my M5 continues to work, I think battery replacements are the logical option for the time being.

Kicking the can down the road......

Meanwhile batteries have taken on a life of their own.
