Star Stuck Moose writes"
Did you see the in-body filters, including one that MAY have some effect on the
foreground problem?
"BMF-LPC01 Light Pollution Filter
Reduces artificial light interference, preserving true nebula and constellation
colors for cleaner, more vivid night-sky images."
Good to mention. Might help some as the HHHR stacking may be able to more
easily ignore the foreground if the stars are less faded out. If the
foreground clearly predominates, it doesn't matter, it will stack the
foreground and blur the stars. The light pollution filters are often narrowish
to filter out orange, and it works to a degree. I am skeptical it would now be
as helpful with the proliferation of LED's. The better solution was to have OM
change the firmware so that it starry sky AF is used, it will stack on the sky
period. SOLD.
Curiously I don't think Oly had the faintest clue how well HHHR works for
astro--even more so on a tracker---however it takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r on a tracker
with one min exposures.
