OM has new Astro modified cam like the previous E-M1-MkIII Astro. They
probably just pulled the filters off as it is not suitable for other
photography w/o many machinations. They did preset some custom modes which are
convenient, but easy enough to set up. Using HHHR on a tracker was figured out
by users to work well and now they advertise as a feature. What they did not
do was fix the problem of it stacking on the foreground if not enough sky is in
the image or if too much sky glow. If they could just keep the cam stacking
on the stars no matter what if starry sky AF was used, they can have my money.
Digging into it, I am almost certain they did not. They should have put the
effort in to do so. Curiously the normal OM sensor filters block almost 100%
of Ha light but Sony only about 80%.
Not sure, but not immediately sold. I greatly applaud the idea though.
Eyes on the sky, Mike
