Rising above the Shadows. Kenai Peninsula, Alaska. Olympus E-3 with
50-200 SWD lens.

The first day of the year afforded me the opportunity to take a little
road trip. I drove down to the Kenai Peninsula on the Seward Highway
and turned around at the Sterling Highway. I didn't really take too
many pictures (hah), but spent most of the journey gawking at the
scenery. I may live here, but most trips anywhere are pretty
awe-inspiring. The Kenai Peninsula is always bonkers in that regard.

I didn't take much gear with me, and limited myself to the E-3, E-400,
12-60 SWD, and 50-200 SWD lenses. I did also bring the A7ii with 28-70
lens and took a few pictures with it, but those were largely
uninspiring. I brought that because it's now my primary video kit.

Those on facebook have seen a number of pictures from the trip. The
problem I'm running into is that each time I stopped to get a picture,
it was a home run. I don't even know how to select a favorite from the
bunch. This shot is probably, from an originality perspective, the
boring shot from the trip, but does the best job of illustrating the
scenery.

I think I've finally figured out how to shoot the E-3, and I'm getting
really good results from it. It's consistently the best all-around
camera in my bag.
