Hardly a day goes by when I'm not changing lenses on something. So
many lenses, so many bodies, so many choices.

The SONY mount is about as horrible as it can get. It takes three
octopus to change lenses on the A7. And the rear cap is especially
difficult to use.

On Saturday, I did lens testing at one of my favorite photography
spots about 10 minutes from the house. I tested every OM mount lens I
have on the A7ii at every aperture. It's a nice base-line test of the
lenses and my own form of updated "Gary Reese Lenstest" information.
This exercise proved quite interesting as I am able to better quantify
certain differences between lenses and apertures. I know generally
what is going on in some cases, but this test better yields controlled
comparative information. The premise of the test is "landscape", and
all lenses were focused on a point about 200 meters away.

Anyway, I'll tell more about that later, but the test involved
mounting every lens on the OM-3Ti first, then on the A7ii. I did that
to keep track of what lens was which (instead of keeping notes). I
photographed the OM-3Ti with the next lens to being tested. There was
a LOT of lens changing!

For landscape photography, stopped down sufficiently for adequate DoF,
I think I might have a new favorite lens, and it would probably
surprise you. There is one lens that appears to not only be sharpest,
but has the best micro-contrast of the bunch. I bet you wouldn't be
able to guess.
