Sandisk cards, bought 2 at $199 each. 1 worked, 1 did not. Returned the 1 and
2nd one does not perform like the first. 1 out of 3. As I wrote about this
previously. 2 Prograde cards work perfectly. If I purchased the cards for $40
and one was OK but not quite as fast, I probably would never notice. But at
$199 I expect better.

I think SanDisk, since now part of western digital, is not the same. So perhaps
the good people left for ProGrade. Maybe they what to prove their previous
employer wrong. Certainly seems that way to me. As an engineer, I have
experienced how corporate wants to cut cost, often at the expense of quality
and testing. Look at the way WD slipped shingled recording into NAS drives and
the backlash of that.

Of course there is also the case of really good engineers, for example Olympus
Camera, but they still may not succeed. Or were they handcuffed by marketing
only u43?

These SD cards are the high performance version with the extra pins on the
card. Of course, more pins means higher probability of mechanical problems.
