I looked again at these photographs and I think you are encountering
PF (Purple Fringing). However, due to the oddities of whatever in the
imaging and processing chain, it's being represented as red.
Honestly, I like the Olympus rendition better for multiple reasons
other than just that. As much as I really like the images from the
Fujifilm cameras, there is something odd about them. MOST of the time,
they are pretty remarkable, but then for some unexplained reason they
just completely fall over. I see a similar trait with the Panasonic
DMC-GX85 where the images are really good until they aren't. And I
can't quite figure out where or why that happens yet. The Sony A7 II,
like the Olympus cameras, tend to be remarkably consistent. (Neither
like to be overexposed).
Beautiful bird, though.
