I sold one a month ago, together with a 1.4x and the 300/2.8 I bought from
Jan a few years back. No complaints with it (within the constraints imposed
by physics), but remember it will only ever fit an Adaptall lens - even
though there are now lots of Chinese mounts to fit Adaptall lenses (or the
teleconverters) to modern cameras. Suddenly the extraordinary rarity (and
price) of Adaptall mounts for Pentax screw is ... history.
If you can find a model 140 1.4x teleconverter, you should be mightily
impressed. I won't even mention the model 200 2x, for fear of sending you on
a fruitless search. They are both for a restricted range of SP lenses (in
fact the 1.4x I sold was a model 140).

I just picked up a rather odd item, a Tamron 01A flat field 2X
teleconverter. I looked at a number of reviews first before buying it. It
cost just $18 from Roberts Camera, which is less than half of the average
price. It fits on the Adaptal II mount. I'm curious to see how will this
works compared to the Sigma 2X teleconveter I've been using for over 40
years.
