Excellent start.

Thanks!

The Brokpa dancer shots are the best I've seen.

And thanks again!

All of my cams lack the antigravity capture mode of your GX-9. Their way of
life is clearly changing.

Shooting was pretty simple, central cluster of focus points, continuous focus, medium speed burst mode. Notice when in the dance they jump and/or what movements they make just prior to the jump, and blast away for several frames. I ended up with a lot of frames pre and post acme, but that's fine.

The classic hat shot from Gasa is one I was looking for.

Those hats aren't from Gasa. the women are Layaps, people who live in Laya, which is further North, with no road, as yet. They were in Gasa for a special event, a celebration of World Health Day, with long speeches and then with singing and dancing by the Laya women and locals. A wonderful, and totally unexpected bonus experience and photo op.

Carol did end up with a Laya hat, from a shop near the Madman's Temple in
Punaka.

I did not miss the self portrait either.

There's always at least one.

I wonder if you ID'd the birds?

Zangley was our guide on that portion or the trip, and he IDed most when he was there, but I didn't write them down. I have Bhutan bird books on the way.

The flying birds are two kinds of Asian vultures. The larger one, with the
white head, may be a big deal.
