Because anything that missed would have to land somewhere. A shotgun would not
have the range, and a rifle round would travel for a long way before hitting
the ground, or something else.
And a drone is too small for any sort of SAM ;-)
In addition, the Transport Secretary has promised “technology”; which suggests
to me that he hasn’t a clue
