Thanks for taking the time to update us, Ken, and here's wishing you all well 
in the cleanup. I do very well remember Anchorage 1964, and it sounds like this 
could have been similar, absent the rebuild after 1964

Building codes are very strong here. The 1964 Good Friday Earthquake
changed Alaska. All buildings and infrastructure have to withstand
some serious stuff without collapsing. The highrise buildings are all
on springs, rubber disks or have active sway control. All houses have
to be anchored to their foundations and strapped.

Creepy thing is that you can here the rumble before it hits.
