Right now use a piece of tape marked with #mm of shift so I can move the cam 
over.  It doesn't cost much.   I suppose only matters if foreground is quite 
close to avoid parallax errors. 
The 35 shift can be quite nice for panos.  I think I did a trace of combined 
vertical perspective correction with it though that may limit the horiz 
shift--I should ck again when I get home.
