Agreed. I didn't like SilkyP before. I keep DxO up to date mostly for the below reason. But it doesn't cut it as even an LR competitor for editing.

But I have a hard time figuring how to go it without occasional DxO Raw
conversion.

I open an image of a nice gate I shot with M.Zuiko 12-100/4 Pro in Bhutan in ACR/PS (or LR). It just looks a little bulgy to me. I open it in DxO. Not only does it not look bulgy, it's wider, too. I'm curious (color depending on WB). A quick check confirms that Viewer 3 is geometrically identical, with a different opinion about curve.

Well Capture One 11 claims real levels with full PSD compatibility and lens
distortion profiles. Install trial. IT'S WORSE!

Not only does it crop out more than ACR, et.al., it's still bulgy. Go up from their profile for the lens to correction of +120, and the roof is straight. As it corrects on screen (cropping even further!) all the effect seems to be in the outer areas - and the gate still looks a bit bulgy. Straight edge (virtual) confirms, the gateposts are still, ever so slightly, barrel distorted. My eyes were correct.

Put a straight edge on the gateposts in DxO, and the edges are straight. PTLens would likely get it right, too, but no profile yet.

Phooey
