This change of colour is usually a function of the browser (not the
site). A link that appears in the browser history inside a certain
(usually configurable) number of days will be rendered by the browser
in a different colour.
Some sites will not do this however, as the stylesheet takes control of
the browser colours. The private list archive in the footer behaves as
expected (that is with visited links appearing as a different colour)
for me.
