Sounds like a value judgement Moose. ;)

Well, maybe. ;-) But I'm also curious. What's the difference between those of us who leave a trail of eyecups and those who don't?

For example, when I'm out using (a) camera(s), It/they are around my neck the whole time. Are others push/pulling them in /out of bags many times per 'session'?

But then, there are times/situations where I am doing some of that.

I try to arrange bags so that the camera is nose down, so out is smooth, resulting in a camera in the hand, ready to use, and both in and out don't catch on anything. (One concern I had with the E-M1, I & II, is the big hand grip catching on the bag. Having just played briefly with one, that's probably not a problem.)

The 5, and 5 II do have a VF/eyecup weakness for me. Dust, fluff, whatever, build up in the lower right corner, and interfere with the eye sensor, making it think there's a face against it when there isn't. So occasionally, I have to take the cup off, wipe off the glass and snap the cup back on - and still, they stay on.

If you are to believe one half of what you read on the internet then this is a design fault of the EM5. I buy the things three at a time :( Never had this trouble with any other camera although I have found Canon eyecups on the trail. But maybe a function of numbers ???

The EM5ii on the other hand is reporting many switch problems. It won't turn on or won't shut off without pulling the battery. Mine is in the latter group.

Yikes! I just knocked on wood with both hands.

Olympus digital has not been very reliable for me. 2 1/2 stars out of 5. Never a problem with the OM's until the OM4t died after many, many years.

I never had a 4/3 camera. I've had a possibly embarrassing number of µ4/3 cameras, including (I think) six Pens, three OM-Ds and an Air. I did have one Pen refurb that lost the date/time whenever the battery was taken out to charge. fixed promptly under warranty.
