If you hear the "clack" of mirror hitting the top with no shutter 
release, that's "shutter lock", usually battery related  but also a 
symptom of oily magnet and misaligned levers in the bottom.
OM-2 "reset" is by shutter speed dial only, set to B
OM-2N, reset by meter switch lever, pressed up to "check/ reset" or 
shutter speed dial set to B.
