That is strange ! Certain media is for ever putting out the message that
with an ever increasing proliferation of firearms the USA should be the
safest place on the planet in which to live :-)

Earlier this week we had a revenge shooting. A DUI suspect returned to
the DUI checkpoint and shot a sheriff's deputy. He was later tracked down and
took his own life right in front of the cops.
A few months ago we had a fatal random execution style shooting at a
street intersection less than a quarter mile from me.
Despite the fact that I'm living in an upper middle class neighbourhood,
this community is becoming increasingly unsafe to live in.
