Thanks, Rick. Well, it allowed me to work on my processing skills during bad weather. I sure didn't attempt to play it after all these years.

Well done Jim! I could see that as a framed metal print.

According to a Google search, these clarinets were made by G. Pruefer in
Providence, RI, from the early 1930s until the 1970s, when the factory
burned down. Pruefer got his training while working for Penzel-Mueller,
and his products bear a resemblance to the P-M clarinets.

According to the inscription on mine, Carl Fischer was the exclusive
distributor for the Pruefer "Wonder Wood" clarinet.

But unlike more recent Boehm systems, no? Metal lining is to say the

Hi Bill,

It is a Boehm System, made by Pruefer. It is unusual because the top
section has a metal lining. I was at least the third owner, when I
bought it from a classmate after we graduated from high school.

What is that? Not an Albert system, no rollers on any of the keys.
Inquiring minds want to know...

This old clarinet, along with a saxophone of the same vintage, helped me
pay for my college education. It was the subject I chose to photograph
while staying inside out of the freezing rain and drizzle this morning.
