Reflow soldering/desoldering of surface mount is common among the
electonics hobbyist community, often using a benchtop toaster oven.
Keeping a sensible thermal profile so as not to exceed the soldering
time specification, but not subjecting the assembly to excessive thermal
shock is the hard bit.
